Although the Academy Awards didn't do justice to The Dark Knight Soundtrack, Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard hit the Classical BRIT Awards with a nomination in the Best Soundtrack 2009 category. Up against the Dark Knight nomination are Newton Howard's score for Will Smith's blockbuster I Am Legend and Paul Cantelon's soundtrack for The Other Boleyn Girl, which I have to say is wonderful and suits perfectly to the film. The Dark Knight nomination is probably the strongest one; after all, the joined forces of the two renowned composers have already won them this year's Grammy for Best Soundtrack. Anyway, all three composers have done amazing work and the nominations are well-deserved. The award ceremony will take place in the Royal Albert Hall on May 14.
